Selecting the right Sydney turf grass for the lawn

Choosing the best Sydney turf grass for the landscaped area and the area around the house may be a big challenge. The main factor to consider while choosing the turf grass for the lawn area is the sunlight received by the space. Sunlight is the major factor to consider while selecting the turf grass for the lawn. Some of the warm season turf grasses available in Australia are Buffalo grass, Durban Grass, Couch, Zoysia and the Kikuyu. For the outstanding shade tolerance, you can rely upon the Durban grass and then buffalo grass. Buffalo grass, in particular, can tolerate shade for some time but then it requires sunlight for some part of the day. Kikuyu requires sunlight throughout the day and it hates the shade. Couch grass requires sunlight for 6 hours of the day.

Sydney turf can be chosen as per your preference and aesthetics. You will notice that in most of the gardens, the predominant turf is the kikuyu. The garden turf Kikuyu has grown since the landscaping was done in the lawn area. But then, the underperforming grass, kikuyu, has just become the eyesore for the homeowners. It is advisable that you create more room for sunlight by simply pruning and trimming the garden plants. It is better to replace the kikuyu with the shade tolerating buffalo grass. This way you can turn your tired-appearing old grass into the lush green grass. The selection of the turf has to be done as per the climactic condition in the area.
